Had It Up To Hair

20.12 Mar

I do not know what ‘death to the hair-dryer’ plague it is that causes my hairdryer to bite the dust every March, but as faithfully as spring follows winter, my hair temporarily reverts to its state of ‘naturally frizzy’ til the problem is resolved. And since it is that time of year once again, I thought I might touch on the subject of ‘Taming the mane’.

After years of searching for the right combination of products and ‘appliances’ to adjust the situation, I have come up with a successful game plan for smooth, glossy locks. The secret recipe to my ‘smooth’ success is as follows.

Since I do not have chemically treated hair, I shampoo every other day alternating between Matix Biolage Smoothing, and Garnier Fructis Sleek shampoo/conditioner. Blow drying and the use of a flat iron is a must. The latter saving grace came after years of searching. “Argon Heat” flat iron is my weapon of choice for combating the frizz. And to amend the use of so much heat, weekly treatments of Kérastase Masque Force Architecte repair any damage, quenching hair with hydration. I complete the process with CHI Shine spray. The fine mist is easier to control for an even application. It reapplies without weighing down the hair.
